Chapelle Sainte Croix
The Ventoux vineyards are located east of the Rhône Valley, near the “Giant of Provence”, Mont Ventoux, which rises to almost 2000 metres and imparts a lovely freshness to the wine. The vineyards enjoy a Mediterranean climate with an exceptional amount of sunshine.
There is a wide variety of soils in the appellation area with 3 main types: red soils, sandy-clay soils and detrital soils made up of pebbles and calcareous scree from the mountain.
The St. Croix Chapel was built on the summit of Mont Ventoux at the request of the Bishop of Carpentras in the 15th century. It served as a place of pilgrimage to invoke divine protection.
This signature illustrates the perfect balance between freshness, fruit and power.
